Academics

Academic Achievement

St. John's Military School students come to the school with many different educational backgrounds.  The school conducts an assessment of the needs of the incoming students with a variety of tools, to include: Measure of Academic Progress test (MAP), Armed Service Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB), ACT, PSAT, SAT and the Kansas Computer Assessments.  Periodically St. John's conducts academic assessments in order to monitor the cadet's progress while he is in attendance at St. John's.

Faculty advisors, as well as the small class size, play a leading role in identifying individual student needs.  However, it is essential that parents provide as much information as possible to St. John's to fully understand the background and the needs of each cadet.

St. John's Military School earned numerous "Standards of Excellence" awards in the last several years and ACT composite scores have continued to increase. The goal at SJMS, which we consistently achieve, is to exceed the national averages as well as Kansas and neighboring states. These averages reflect college entrance requirements.
